The boat “Katran” was launched in Nizhny Novgorod

On Tuesday, May 16, in Nizhny Novgorod they launched the general service boat “Katran” at the plant “Red Sormovo”. All in all, it is planned to launch three more vessels in 2017.

"Katran" is a relatively small boat with a displacement of up to seventy tons. It will be placed on a large vessel and will be used for transportation of passengers and different loads. “Katran” will be indispensable for the berthing of a carrier-vessel at anchor and in the base. There will be provided the daily work of the vessel with the help of “Katran”.

It is reported that the boar can be safety operated even with a four-point storm.

By the way, “Katran” is a kind of a start of a new era in the history of Hydrofoil Design Bureau, named after R.E.Alexeev. The Bureau carried out the design works until recently, while now it starts to increase the production capacity.

It is known that in the coming weeks the boat will be tested, and in the end of June it will be delivered to the customer - JSC “Shiprepairing Center “Zvyozdochka”.
